Dammam, Feb 7, 2011 – Rowad Global Packaging Company (RGPC), the maker of Bi-axially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) Films, today announced that they have already commissioned state-of–the-art 8.7 meter wide Andritz (DMT) line being the largest, most flexible and efficient one, the first of such in the region. This achievement puts Rowad in a position to have it with installed capacity of 35,000 TPA and to play a key role in flexible packaging industry by meeting international standards in wide and expanding range of transparent and metallized films. RGPC plant is equipped for advance BOPP films with unique combinations of toughness, flexibility and transparency with consistency and at a competitive price.
 
Rowad BOPP line along with advance metallizer is now under trails production to offer plain transparent, non-heat sealable, heat-sealable, co-extruded up to 5 layers, metalizeable and followed by white and opaque plus pearlise grade. The product will be of tremendous value to packaging converters for a wide range of applications viz. snack foods, crisps, confectionery, biscuits/bakery, tape & textile, labels, cigarettes over wrap etc.
 
Rowad is quite confident with multinational experienced technical team and on the process control system which is operation-friendly, resulting in less machine startup time, and so less product changeover time. With the direct fluff feeding in extruder without mixing with virgin resin, a better film quality is achieved. Few unique advantages are like no risk of clogging in chill roll tubes, as the chill roll is spray type. Plus caloduc type heating system for melt line and filter-system avoids direct contact of heaters with the melt, maintains uniform heating, and reduces the risk of burning of the melt. Thus, caloduc type heating system for the MDO pre-heating rolls ensures uniform temperature throughout the roll-width. In addition, the four stretch roll systems in MDO ensure smooth stretching, and so zero surface defect film, which is achieved with four motors TDO maintaining smooth stretching of the film, also a better chain track system. With above high tech equipment, the whole production facility is fully air-conditioned to avoid the effect of temperature change. Further, to make the building dust-free, a positive air pressure is maintained.
 
Rowad BOPP lab is well equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to carry out complete analysis of raw materials and films. Product traceability is available from the finished product to the raw material lots. “Assuring best quality and efficient customer service is our top priority” says QC Manager, who is having wealth of international experience in multinational BOPP film companies. He maintains processes and procedures record which meets ISO 9001-2000, ISO 14000 and HACCP, so that the initiated ISO certification to be earned in no time. Rowad also have full technical backup from Tasnee R&D centre with qualified international pool of experts with proven track record in OPP industry.
